As you are no doubt aware, we here at PoopReading.com spent last week celebrating all the best that television had to offer during the 2009-2010 TV season. All five of our contributors produced Top Ten lists, and we’ve tallied up the results to give you, our dear reader(s?), the final, indisputable word on this year's best in TV*.
*these results could easily be disputed, in point of fact. For one thing, there are plenty of good shows that some – or even all – of us didn't watch. Speaking for myself (Joe), I could actually make a respectable Top Ten out of such shows. Or at least a respectable Top Five. Let me try, actually:
See? If that were somebody's Top Five, you might not even bat an eyelash (well, not if it was a chick. If a dude had "The Good Wife" and "Nurse Jackie" in his Top Five, to the exclusion of stuff like "Dexter" or "Breaking Bad," you could probably be forgiven for an eyelash bat or two).
So take what follows with a grain of salt. We're only a handful of people, and maybe not the most diverse group of folks imaginable. That is, if you consider "five white college graduates in their 30s" to be a not diverse group. But we're not all that similar… one of us isn't married! One of us is a Republican! One of us is a girl! See? It could be worse.
All right; enough of that nonsense. Onto the good stuff.
To refresh, here are our individual Top Ten lists again:
And now we present, based on a system whereby a show gets 10 points for appearing at the #1 spot on a list, nine points for #2, eight points for #3, and so on…
The Top Ten Shows of the 2008-2009 Television Season (it's 11 shows with ties, but whatever)
